The Shoelace Sessions are excited to present a night of music at Compass Pizza. We will be showcasing our favourite artists and our team will be capturing the entire show to create live videos for all involved. This event will held on the first Saturday of March, April & May 2019.

Our third night on May 4th is sure to take your breath away, with some of Melbournes best singer songwriters, Laura Eloise, Georgie Currie & Alana Wilkinson.

Be sure to come along, have some delicious pizza, a few drinks & be whisked away for the night xx

Tickets are $10, show kicking off at 8pm. Don't miss out on the pre sale tickets available through link below.

|| Georgie Currie ||

Albury-bred singer/songwriter Georgie Currie is known to Melbourne audiences as lead singer of local ten-piece outfit, The Northern Folk. Having recently begun her solo career, Georgie's songs blend the broken, intimate fears of youth with a vocal intensity beyond her years. Lyrically and harmonically mature, she paints portraits remarkable as much for their emotional power as their vulnerability.

|| Laura Eloise ||

Indie-Folk singer/songwriter Laura Eloise's love affair with music first bloomed while she was seated at a piano at 10 years of age and living in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs. Although she parted ways with the keys for a few years, she re-ignited her passion for music during the winter of 2015 whilst travelling alone through North America and found her voice through penning original songs and playing acoustic guitar.

|| Alana Wilkinson ||

Equal parts vulnerable folk singer and vitriolic punk poet Melbourne artist Alana Wilkinson is a smiling assassin.Combining delicate melodies with disarmingly insightful vignettes about the human condition, Wilkinson’s songs with titles like GTFA (Get The Fuck Away) skewer ex-lovers, would-be suitors, ridiculous social norms and the absurd challenges of suburban life in a merciless, yet strangely affectionate way, leaving audiences feeling that they have stumbled across a particularly poignant and expletive-filled diary.

We are so excited for this night ~ xx

Jess DeLuca writes songs about difficulties in our lives , getting lost in the woods , loving your mother and hating life sometimes. Gently whispering into your ear that it’s okay to be lost, with stark but precise arrangements matched to her meticulous and skilful , soft and poignant songwriting.

Hey Mammoth

All-female trio, Hey Mammoth, is celebrating the release of their debut EP, ‘Ice Age’, by hitting up some of their favourite small venues in our little state of Victoria.

Through a seemingly random assortment of wacky tunes, ‘Ice Age’ has you contemplating imaginary grandmothers, what happens when you fall into the kitchen sink, and whether all it takes to become a grown up is having your own set of keys.

Known for their light-hearted combination of folky sounds, edgy harmonies and lyrics that make you have a good think and a good laugh, Hey Mammoth will give you something to bring up at your next dinner party, and leave you chatting for the whole car-ride home.

They’ll be rounding things up in Brunswick, Melbourne at Compass Pizza, with an acoustic set from Geelong’s favourite alt-pop-rock band, The Run, as well as the much-loved Melbourne singer-songwriter, Rory.

Rosario De Marco

Rosario De Marco

Rosario is a gifted musician and composer. He can create a Mediterranean atmosphere with just a guitar. His style is something between melodious picking and rhythmic percussive playing. The general impression is aggressive and experimental, he adds a lot of influences into his original tunes but it always sounds somehow rooted in the Mediterranean, yet with a unique flavour to it.

His music captures the warmth and passion of the Southern European lands, taking elements from flamenco, jazz, classical, folk and popular music. With this mixture of different musical inspirations, he creates his own personal and highly melodious style…

He has released a number of CDs, including "Light and Shadows" "Roots" and "Intuition".

Performances include as the support act for Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club), and Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the Melbourne Concert Hall. He can also be heard on radio stations such as SBS, 3AK, ABC and 3MBS.

Well Into Winter

Well Into Winter

Well Into Winter is in the process of morphing slowly from a solo bedroom recording project into a proper band with like, drums and everything. In order for all records of his drunken toiling in the art of reverby, clumsily overdubbed phone recordings to be not lost, Alex is releasing eight tracks on the booming new medium known as 'Cas-sette'; to henceforth be enjoyed only by really next level hipsters and those with a pre-1995 vehicle. Thank god we live in this time.

Joining WiW on the night is Patrick Lionel, who provided the following bio under duress, fearing it made him sound like he had tickets on himself:

"Described as having the ability to both ‘break your heart and fill your heart’ in a matter of minutes; Patrick Lionel is a songwriter that will leave you with tingling skin.

The country-raised, city-based folk artist has in a few years gone from playing on the streets of his hometown to gracing festival stages across the country. Most recently, Patrick joined Jordie Lane as support for his Australian 'Dreamin' The Life' tour."

Sounds good, right?

El Tee, Madame Sledge and Good Bangs solo soiree

$10

A couple of rock n roll chooks come together to share a few slices of pizza and a few tunes - easy on the cheese and heavy on the hits. Join El Tee, Madame Sledge (of Sledgehammer) and Good Bangs (of Bad Bangs) for a Saturday night solo soiree.

El Tee is something to truly treasure. L.A born singer songwriter, Lauren Tarver melds heartbreak with effortless alt-country styling. A vibrant affirmation of love and longing in the most candid way possible. Get ready to swoon.

What can be said of Madame Sledge without repeating a cliche? Starting Sledgehammer in early 2018, Sophie Lubczenko knows how to write the hits. So good you really can't help but embrace it all.

Heavy-hearted, personal, and even a little cheeky at times, Shelby De Fazio has a good knack for a good tune. Stepping away from Bad Bangs for a rare solo performance, prepare for a stripped back solo mode of new songs, classic and maybe even a cover or 2.
