Local four-piece Low Temperature Civics will be crawling out of the woodwork to bring their energetic and distinctive sounds to Compass Pizza Bar on Friday November 23rd, celebrating the completion of their latest and soon-to-be-released EP. Joining them will be summer-soaked garage rock luminaries Swamp, bringing to life their 2018 EP 'Spotto', an offering laden with dreamy harmonies, slick guitar hooks and clever songwriting. Also expect a taste of fresh material as the band premieres brand-new single 'Tonight', a cut from their upcoming 2019 EP.

Shirazz & The Slip Dixies

Shirazz & the Slip Dixies will be at Compass Pizza for an evening jazz party full of the hottest trad jazz around.

Expect the hottest jazz outside Louisiana as classic favourites, re-imagined pop and the odd cheeky original marinate in Shirazz's heady mix of hot trad jazz and swampy street beats.

The Slipdixies formed in mid-2015 and are inspired by the early jazz and blues music of the twenties and thirties. Playing hot driving rhythms and laid-back blues, old favourites and lesser-known forgotten treasures of a bygone age, they create the sound of New Orleans with a mild modern twist.

Brian Campeau

Brian Campeau is mostly known for his complex guitar playing accompanied by long sorrowful vocals. He is less known for his charm and willingness to please his audience. Some don’t like his sense of humour.

Originally from Canada, he’s been in Australia since 2003. He tends not to like being compared to other artists, but sees some value to these comparisons. With this in mind, some say Brian sounds like Nick Drake mixed with Radiohead. Others say he sounds angelic. That’s pretty nice.
